T. Halik

With deep grief, we heard the news about the death of Our Dear Colleague dr. Teresa Halik. She died on 4th of January 2015.

Dr Teresa Halik studied sinology at the Warsaw University and Vietnamese culture and history at the University of Hanoi. Vietnamese language and culture became her passion to which she remained faithful during many years of her work as a scholar. As a researcher, during her work at the Institute of Mediterranean and oriental Cultures, she has been studying the factors of Vietnamese migrations and every-day aspects of life of the members of Vietnamese diaspora in Poland. She published many books and articles, and as a university lecturer she became an inspiration for her students.

We will remember her as a gentle and helpful person with great sense of humour.
